The primary mission of Bridge at Miracle Mile is to help men achieve independence from all forms of addiction.

You may ask, ‘why are male sober living, residential recovery, and transitional living homes necessary?’ The answer to this important question rests on the individual nature of personal recovery from substance and behavioral addiction. Like all miracles, this new way of clean and sober living is available equally to everyone, from all walks of life. With this important statement emphasized, however, Bridge at Miracle Mile recognizes and honors the uniquely distinctive challenge for men suffering from chemical and process addictions to achieve sobriety. For us, this challenge isn’t necessarily harder than for others, but it is undeniably different, and requires a unique approach to recovery than that offered at traditional sober living homes.

In this sense, Bridge at Miracle Mile provides a much-needed and ground-breaking service by offering valuable and individualized support for our male communities suffering from addiction.

Why does Bridge at Miracle Mile work?

First, we bridge your recovery program and your personal health program. We focus heavily and equally on the health of the mind, body, and spirit – and help you to integrate all three. We believe that your personal and spiritual balance is necessary in overcoming your difficult challenges. We not only encourage you to work closely with your sponsor, attend 12 Step along with sobriety support meetings, and participate in the local recovery community. We want you to develop a physical health program – in conjunction with exercise and diet – that will help you to achieve all your living goals.

Next, we bridge your goal-making system – helping you to design both life and recovery goals and develop the means by which you can achieve them;

Then, we bridge the gap between you and your friends and family affected by your addiction. At the same time we personally assist you in creating a new, extended ‘family’ of LGBT friends, associates, and members of your support team. We personally assist you, at your own individual pace, to reintegrate back with family, friends, work, and education;

Finally, we bridge the gap between your interests, passions, talents, and the effective engagement of these qualities in moving back into society. It is our mission to help you, as a man, to regain your God-given role as a valuable and contributing member of America and the global community.

Twelve Steps to Recovery

Step 2 - Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Step 3 - Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

Step 4 - Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Step 5 - Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

Step 6 - Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

Step 7 - Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

Step 8 - Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

Step 9 - Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Step 10 - Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

Step 11 - Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

Step 12 - Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
